But if you’re a pet owner or your house has a lot of carpet, you may be happier with a dedicated robot vacuum.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra may be the future of self-emptying robot vacuums, combining pad washing and self-emptying features. It’s not the first with this combination but offers the best of both worlds with performance and efficiency. One downside of combining these features is the size uptick with the base station. It’s bigger than any self-emptying robot vacuum I’ve tested. How good is this product? Is it worth the high cost? I’ve spent the past week testing to find out.
The Roborock S7 MaxV is Roborock's most complete robot vacuum so far. It gets the S7's VibraRise mop and sonic cleaning, plus the S6 MaxV's dual-camera setup for accurate obstacle avoidance. The Ultra model ships with a do-it-all dock that empties the dust bin, cleans the mop, and absorbs dirty water. All of this comes at a whopping $1,399 price, but if you want the best no matter the cost, this is it.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra does a lot. It vacuums, mops, detects rugs, cleans itself, and even lets you check in on your pets when you’re away, but all of that technology comes with a very hefty price tag – $1,399 to be exact. It is the most expensive robot vacuum package I’ve ever reviewed. That being said, there is a lot to like about the S7 MaxV Ultra, from strong vacuuming performance to a basic mop that cleans itself and doesn’t require laying out mopping pads and water tanks to dry after use. It’s convenient to use and good for keeping floors respectable between deep mopping sessions.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra ($1,399.99) stands alongside the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni ($1,549) as the two most advanced floor-cleaning robots currently on the market. Both offer top-notch vacuuming and mopping performance, solid battery life, excellent obstacle avoidance, ample cleaning customization options, automatic dustbin emptying, and the ability to wash their own mop pads. They also serve as roving home security cameras with two-way audio. The pricier X1 Omni is our Editors' Choice winner overall thanks to its more streamlined dock, built-in virtual assistant, larger water tanks, and hot-air mop-drying feature. If you're primarily concerned with mopping performance, however, the S7 MaxV Ultra is a bit more powerful and has a unique mop-lifting feature, making it a compelling alternative.

Personally, I still prefer separate bots for mopping and cleaning, however. The combo Roomba J7 Plus and Braava Jet M6 are $100 less than the S7 MaxV Ultra and a great solution that may fit into your home’s decor more easily than the Roborock’s giant dock. While you have to refill the M6’s tank manually and clean its bottom, the tank holds more than double that of the S7 MaxV, you can add any floor cleaner you like to it, plus it can also sweep.
A $1,400 robot is the height of smart home extravagance, and it will only appeal to a small segment of consumers, but it's a nearly perfect autonomous vacuum. The robot itself has all the features you could want and then some, including powerful suction, a mop that won't soak your carpet, and it's smart enough to go around obstacles instead of knocking things over or getting stuck. There's even an integrated camera with 2-way audio. The dock is what makes it special, though. You could go weeks without touching the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra because the dock cleans, fills, and empties the robot for you.
The Roborock S7 MaxV is a robot that can mop and vacuum with great performance. Our testing showed the vacuum removed 97.9% of debris during our tests, and the mop functioned great for light to moderate messes and daily mopping. The combination of LiDAR, an RGB camera, and structured light sensor give the S7 MaxV fantastic mapping and navigation abilities. Roborocks ReactiveAI can recognize objects and avoid them, identify designated areas and adjust settings, and lift up the mop when cleaning carpet. Ease of use is the key to the design of the S7 MaxV Ultra.
The Roborock S7 MaxV is a high-end robot vacuum. In terms of automation capabilities, it's a significant step up over the standard Roborock S7; the addition of a dual-camera system allows it to identify and adjust to different types of rooms or to spot and avoid hazards like pet waste, slippers, or power cables, so you don't have to worry too much about keeping your floors spotless before letting it run. It can also be used as a roving security camera, while the onboard speakers and mic enable you to communicate with anybody in your home while you're away. It's also fully compatible with a self-emptying station that can refill its water tank and wash its mopping pads, similar to the Narwal T10.
We could go on for hours about the details, but we want to keep it short. The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra absolutely impressed us in our review. The brand promised a lot and kept its word. The device is pumped full of great features from bottom to top. Due to the large number of different technologies, we feared that there would be errors. But this was not the case. It’s fascinating to see how the numerous features work together as one without any problems. There is no question that the Roborock S7 MaxV is a big step forward in automated home cleaning.

Roborock’s S7 MaxV Ultra is far too expensive for many people out there. At $1,399.99, it’s one of the most expensive robot vacuums in the world. Is it worth that ultra-high price? Well, the answer to that question is complicated.

For those who are interested in the best 2-in-1 robot vacuum money can buy, the S7 MaxV Ultra won’t disappoint.

Coming in at $1,399.99, it’s $150 more expensive than bundling iRobot’s top-of-the-line Roomba S9+ and Braava jet m6 Robot Mop. You have to decide if the convenience of weekly maintenance of the robot vacuum instead of daily care is worth the money. The S7 MaxV Ultra goes on sale on May 2, 2022, if you think it’s a good fit for your home. If that’s a bit too high for your wallet, you can grab the S7 MaxV with just the charging dock for $859.99 or the S7 MaxV Plus which comes with an auto-emptying dock for $1,159.99. With the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra you simply set it up with a connection to your phone and let it map out your floor plan. Fill the clean water tank, put it in a vacuum bag, attach the mop head, setup your vacuuming and mopping schedule and then come back in a couple of weeks to check on the status of things in the dock. The vacuum has returned every single time, it has avoided obstacles, it has thoroughly vacuumed and mopped my floors, and it can even be used as a remote robotic security camera.
Combining the quality mopping of the S7 and the automatic object avoidance of the S6 MaxV, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra delivers the best technologies from Roborock’s previous robot vacuum cleaners. This model goes further still: with the Empty Wash Fill dock, the robot can self-empty, clean the mopping cloth and even refill water. Performance is excellent, with this robot achieving in one pass what other robot vacuums take two or more passes, and the sonic mopping still delivers the most impressive floor-mopping results I’ve seen. Obviously, the downside is that this robovac is expensive; but if you want hassle-free cleaning and excellent performance then there isn’t anything better.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra finally has eyes to see and a smarter brain. It’s better at everything than the S7, but also twice as expensive. That’s partly due to the large but rather handy docking station with emptying, which is both useful and convenient. It may take a little time to get to know all the compartments and the layout. And for you to learn how to use the app, which could do with an update to make it more user-friendly and less laggy. But that doesn’t stop the S7 MaxV Ultra from being the most powerful, smartest and perhaps very best robot vacuum cleaner right now.

It has class leading vacuum power and a rear vibrating mop that not only lifts off carpets but cleans itself after every session. It is, to all intents and purposes, the most intuitive, reliable and efficient hands-free floor cleaning system currently on the market.
If you are searching for a top-rated robot vacuum that sets itself apart from all others and budget is not an issue for you, then we think the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is a fantastic option. It is an incredibly intelligent navigator, easily maneuvering around furniture and avoiding pet poop in our tests. Besides a couple of minor shortcomings, like its poor pet hair performance, it essentially sets the standard for what the industry should consider a top-tier model. Its large capacity dust collection system, self-cleaning mop, and quick mapping system enhance the already convenient and feature-rich model, making it one of the most impressive robots we've ever seen.
The dock might be big, but the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is also incredibly convenient. With the ability to empty its own dustbin, refill its own water tank, and clean its mop, there's minimal work for consumers to keep this robot vacuum running. Plus, it picks up fur and debris incredibly well, leaving perfect vacuum lines.
The new Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is sleek, simple to set up, and is mighty convenient for busy bees and those with mobility issues. Beyond these obvious advantages, it does an impressive job cleaning both carpet, tiles, and hardwood/hardwood alternatives. It can be scheduled in advance, or run at any time from the easy-to-install app, making it even more of a must-have.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra retails at RM 11,398 which sounds expensive, however, the amount of features, technology, and experiences you get isn’t necessarily unreasonable.
Anyhow, Roborock Malaysia would always offers crazy deals during flash sales and this smart vacuum can go as low as sub RM 6,000. Matter of fact, this coming 12.12, you can get it for just RM 5,099.
Is it perfect? No. Is it close? Absolutely. Aside from the few minor issues I experienced, the S7 MaxV Ultra is a true beast of a vacuum. The sonic mopping is a true game-changer, and having clean water and a dust bin at the ready really makes this a hands-off vacuum that you'll fall in love with. Swallowing the huge price tag will absolutely be the most off-putting factor for many people, though
Don't buy the Roborock S7 MaxV Ulta and think you'll never have to clean again. There are too many fringe scenarios that a robot isn't able to tackle on its own. Tight corners, slippery rugs, or some furniture will pose issues. Compared to where these vacuums were even a couple of years ago, they've progressed by leaps and bounds. It's now able to detect what things are and react intelligently. You can use Siri to command it to clean a certain room and it knows exactly where it is and how much suction to apply.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is an advanced, fully autonomous robot floor cleaner with sophisticated mapping capabilities. But its high price tag will present an obstacle for some shoppers.
