Sportóra mércével sem feltétlen veszélyes a 420 ezer, hiszen a Garmin simán elkér 470 ezer forintot a Fenixért.
All in all, the Ultra is one of the best debuts in a new product category that I’ve seen in a while. A lot of thought was put into the Ultra, and it shows. It’s not enough to make Garmin shake in its boots just yet, but it’s more than enough to pique interest and spark competition. Apple’s officially a viable contender in the rugged watch category — and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
At its core it is a Series 8 turned up to 11, with a bigger battery, brighter screen, new sensors and an additional button, instantly making it the most capable smartwatch available for iPhones. Day to day its new rugged, yet expensive, look sets it apart from its siblings and makes it a statement watch. It looks great and works well.

The Apple Watch Ultra's expertly made special features give it surprisingly wide appeal, with the long battery life and characterful, luxurious design making it a fantastic choice even for those not planning any daring adventures.
The Apple Watch Ultra doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but Apple has made its best sports watch yet. Features like the Action Button and the better battery life make this a contender for athletes in a way Apple never has been before. However, the Ultra might be too big for petite wrists and it's expensive.
I feel there are two types of people who will be drawn to the Apple Watch Ultra. The first is anyone who wants a bigger, tougher Apple Watch with a battery that lasts twice as long as the other models. And if you're looking at a 45mm Series 8 in stainless steel, it's almost the same cost as the Ultra -- in the US anyway -- so I think the Ultra is the better overall choice.
The Apple Watch Ultra is a great smartwatch that takes everything you get from the Series 8 and gives it a design and feature set update and greater battery life to make it a much better companion on hikes and long runs as well as for more extreme use in the watery depths.
This is an excellent smartwatch for hikers and extreme athletes, and a worthy competitor to Garmin’s dominance. Just make sure you need its upgrades, because they come at a price.
However, it is far from perfect. You can get better battery life from other, more fitness-focused wearables, including superior fitness analysis and better help with your training. The heart rate monitor performance is extremely patchy on the Watch Ultra, too, and the price is very, very high.
The Apple Watch Ultra might be the ultimate smartwatch. Sure, it doesn’t have the same long-lasting battery as some Garmin or Fitbit wearables, and it lacks some of the exercise-tracking features those two offer like rep-tracking or recovery stats. Those looking to track their sleep might prefer the lower profile of the Series 8 or SE.
The Apple Watch Ultra is the Apple Watch Series 8 on steroids, plus so much more. It's bulked up to offer a more rough and ready device with not only a tougher casing, but a bigger one too, alongside a bigger and stunning display, more tactile buttons and extra buttons too. If you want an Apple Watch that stands out from the rest of the portfolio, delivers great performance and offers a great design, this is it. You'll just need to dig deep to get it.
I was pretty nervous about taking my $800 Apple Watch Ultra out on this grueling Tough Mudder event, given all of the crawling, climbing, and other physical obstacles I had to tackle. To my surprise, it held up really well and I still cannot believe that the display is flawless. I tip my hat to Apple for making a rugged device with premium materials that actually does hold up well under tough conditions.
The Apple Watch Ultra is big and bold and has the performance to back that up. Whether you’re an athlete or just want the very best, you won’t be disappointed in this device. The combination of an incredible screen, a larger battery and a seriously durable casing make this worthy of the Ultra name and the best Apple Watch on the market.
The Apple Watch Ultra is easily the best wearable that the brand has ever made, bringing a bright, large screen, a new customizable physical button for making running workouts easier to start or end, and a longer battery life. A clear attempt to take on the likes of Garmin and Polar, Apple has stuck a lot of useful tech and genuinely helpful features that will be of real use in an emergency - for the intermediate fitness enthusiast, or someone that can afford a slightly better Apple Watch, this is an easy buy.
The Apple Watch Ultra is a big beast of a smartwatch, and one of the best buys you can make if you're bought into the Apple ecosystem and you want the biggest watch they make. Even if you're not a fitness freak, there's plenty to love about this beautiful, bright smartwatch.
After using the Apple Watch Ultra for the last six months, I have to say that it truly is the Apple Watch I’ve been waiting years for. Outside of bringing SOS via satellite to it, which will be an engineering feat if Apple could pull it off, I honestly can’t think of anything else I would want the Ultra to do.
Naturally, if you're looking for the same functionality as the Apple Watch Ultra but with a less rugged design, the Apple Watch Series 8 is a great alternative. In fact, the features added to that watch (crash detection and a temperature sensor for menstrual cycle tracking) are slim enough to warrant giving the Series 7 a look if you can find it cheaper.
The Apple Watch Ultra's battery life does lag behind that of other GPS watches at a similar price point, but the activity and health tracking performance is on a par with - and in some ways better - than its competition. Cheaper options of the Apple Watch Ultra are available, but these do not have the same premium materials to improve longevity. The health tracking features are great and, when using an iPhone, the functionality and ease of use is unmatched. For iPhone users, the Apple Watch Ultra is expensive but it does everything so well - it's also more rugged and has a far better battery life than cheaper Apple Watche models. But for non-iPhone users, I would look elsewhere.
The Ultra comes with cellular connectivity by default, and offers noticeably improved call quality thanks to a dual-speaker system and three-microphone array. With a rugged build, longer battery life than its siblings, and a WR100 water resistance rating, the Ultra should strongly appeal to outdoor adventurers, endurance athletes, and ocean enthusiasts with deep pockets. For everyone else we recommend the Series 8, which offers many of the same features in a more comfortable design for half the price.
If you have been looking for a top-of-the-line smartwatch that's also capable in the outdoors, the Apple Watch Ultra could be the model for you. While battery life suffers due to the always-on display, this is still one of the best watches we have tested. The number of features and Apple's UI and phone integration make the Ultra supremely easy to use. We wouldn't choose this for an expedition or multi-day usage, but for around town or near a charger, this is a clear favorite and deserves the hype. Check out our article on the best GPS watches to see how it ranks versus competitors.
The Apple Watch Ultra is impressive, and sorts many of the limitations of the regular Apple Watch such as the raised screen, the difficulty in starting activities, and the one-day battery life. There are some slight annoyances, such as being able to set off the buttons by mistake if I position it where I would normally wear a watch, and how easily the orange strap seems to pick up dirt and stains, but these are relatively easily remedied. Other than that, there isn't much not to like here – as long as you can stomach the cost.
The Apple Watch Ultra is the perfect wearable for those dedicated to outdoor sports like running, hiking and diving, with better durability, longer battery life and dual-band GPS providing more accurate tracking data. It’s pricey, and the accompanying straps need work, but it’s still a very capable option that’s actually cheaper than some competitors.
If your hobbies include going backpacking for a week, I would still probably suggest getting a different Garmin, even though longer battery life still comes with trade-offs. But if you’re a weekend warrior who wants to wear an Apple Watch during the week and not get hopelessly lost on a trail system on the weekends, then the Ultra’s functionality is unmatched.
The first major deviation from Apple's go-to formula, the Apple Watch Ultra is a great compromise for anyone who wants something rugged on their wrist but is wholly committed to the iOS ecosystem. The durable build, upgraded battery life, handful of advanced tracking sensors, and safety features make this the first Apple Watch to tempt everyone from triathlon competitors to backcountry campers. It won't replace dedicated dive watches and isn't quite feature-packed enough for extreme outdoor adventurers, but it's a phenomenal start down that path.
But even if you don't care about more sophisticated tracking or emergency sirens or submerging yourself in the ocean, a bigger screen and a better battery are the kind of features that are hard to argue with, no matter who you are. And that's exactly why the Ultra has become my go-to Apple Watch.
Watch fans hankering for a bigger battery, more controls, beefed-up rugged design and features tailored to outdoor pursuits, will find a lot to love here. The Apple Watch Ultra is definitely another step into Garmin territory and undoubtedly the best adventure-friendly Apple Watch to date. When you consider the smarts the Ultra offers beyond your adventures, it’s arguably the best all-rounder for straddling life on and off the beaten track. However, it’s not the most capable adventure watch and that battery life will still force you back on grid faster than top-end Garmin models.
The Apple Watch Series 8 offers the best bang for your buck to those who want the latest and greatest features in a svelte package. It’s got all the bells and whistles to satisfy all but the most intrepid explorers, and it comes in two sizes that should work for almost anyone. You can save money with an aluminum GPS model, or splash out on a stainless steel case and bouge it up with proprietary bands and cellular connectivity too. If you’re questioning whether you should pick the Ultra instead, you probably shouldn’t. For a slim and lightweight Apple Watch experience that doesn’t sacrifice features, the Series 8 won’t disappoint.
Apple Watch Ultra is Apple's new smartwatch aimed at those who are most active. It sports a new rugged design with a larger 49mm screen, a bigger battery that'll last 36 hours, and a bunch of new features for those that take things to the extreme. It's also a nice smartwatch for everyday use. At the price point of $799 it matches most competitors and boasts the Apple functionality. It's not one to miss if you'll take advantage of the features.
If you’re already a fan of Apple products and can afford the high price, this is the best Apple Watch available. However, it’s oversized and clunky, so it may be too overwhelming for users with small wrists. And while endurance athletes and outdoor adventurers will appreciate the Ultra’s new features and precise accuracy, the watch may have too much functionality for casual users.
f we were summarizing the Apple Watch Ultra into a single word, it would probably be "great." You have all the benefits of the Apple Watch Series 8, such as crash detection, temperature monitoring, and the S8 SiP but many others as well. It has a new look, premium materials, plus thoughtful considerations and customizations. Not to mention the improved durability and its ability to be used as a full-fledged dive watch. It's a lot to love. At the same time, it feels a little like a first-gen product. There's one color option, no air integration for diving, and harder-core athletes will still be asking for more.
It should be pretty clear that I'm not quite the target market for the Apple Watch Ultra. I just don't have the rugged physique or desires of an ultramarathon runner in me, it seems. Equally, I'm not about to plunge into the ocean's depths any time soon. On paper, the Apple Watch Ultra should only appeal to that kind of crowd. If that's you and if you're already heavily in the Apple ecosystem and looking for an Apple Watch that will go further and harder, then it's an easy enough recommendation.
Tougher and more robust than the Series 8 upon which it is based, the Apple Watch Ultra proves to be a versatile and impressively resilient outdoors watch for most recreational activities. That said, there are watches on sale from the likes of Garmin, Suunto and Coros that offer more in terms of proper topographic maps and extreme navigation, more detailed performance metrics and a far greater battery life. All of which are very important factors when venturing properly off-grid.
At the end of the day, the Apple Watch is a fantastic smartwatch and an absolute no-brainer for the vast majority of iPhone users. There is no smartwatch that is so diverse and so successfully integrated into any ecosystem. On the sports and outdoor features side, the Apple Watch Ultra ends up being an SUV for the wrist with that certain "I could if I wanted" feeling; a lifestyle promise of being able to throw yourself into the Ironman in Hawaii or into the wilderness with the watch at any time.
As someone who has been stuck in a blizzard on a Scottish mountain with his phone (which I was using to navigate) dead due to the low temperatures, a watch that can work down to -20 degrees is a lifesaver. But the real reason that this was the watch for me, is that it looks set to become the one device that I have with me literally all the time and that I use more than any other.
The Apple Watch Ultra is a definite win for Apple. It definitely sets the stage for future follow-ups that will build upon the super-solid hardware and software foundation laid by it. With its great battery life, feature-rich roster of features and utilities, and intuitive interface, this one shines extremely brightly and should at least be considered by anyone on the hunt for a new smartwatch, especially those dwelling in the vast Apple ecosystem.
For professional athletes, the Apple Watch Ultra is the most fitting option, but what about regular people like me? It’s still an optimal choice for the average Joe with a big, beautiful display, that customizable action button and a ridiculous battery life — as long as you have the ‘right’ wrist.
You may not use the feature set to its full extent and you might not get the same use as someone who plans to go on a big hike or sets out in the snow. There are definitely people this watch is focused on who aren’t your every day iPhone and Apple Watch wearer. But even if you’re not those people and happen to be a mere mortal watch wearer, the Apple Watch Ultra brings with it just that little bit better Apple Watch experience to keep you going for longer. It’s the better Apple Watch hands down. Recommended.
