The ASUS TUF Dash F15 is good for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles. It gets hot and loud under load, but thankfully, its performance doesn't drop, so you get consistent frame rates when gaming for an extended period.
The TUF Dash is Asus's most affordable all-purpose/gaming laptop series at this point, and a lot more powerful than the previous generation in this 2022 update. It's still a thinner and lighter alternative for the full-size TUF Gaming models, and is still an Intel-exclusive design, but it is a balanced performer and competitively priced in most regions, thus an option to consider if you're shopping on a lower budget. Just be careful about that FHD 144Hz screen option and aim for a configuration with the FHD 300Hz display, if available in your area.
For an entry-level gaming laptop, however, the FX517ZC is still pretty good as it doesn't skimp on the display, RAM, or CPU which many other gaming laptops tend to do in the $1000 and under range. The 1440p panel offers full P3 coverage, fast response times, adaptive sync, and 165 Hz which is a rarity on a budget system. The 12th gen Core i7-12650H CPU, while not all that different form the 11th gen Core i7-11800H, pairs well with the affordable RTX 3050 GPU in this case.
The performance conundrum of a slim gaming laptop is something Asus hasn’t fully solved with the Dash F15. But if you’re after a lightweight laptop with the premium screen and components that can handle high-end gaming with good frame rates for the price, the Dash F15 may be for you.
The key to enjoying life with an Asus TUF Gaming F15 is making sure you buy the right model. The one I’d strongly recommend is the machine with the QHD 165Hz display, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU and Moonlight White colour scheme. That’s the optimum combination of performance and value and will get you a gaming laptop that can produce higher frame rates at 1080p than any other RTX 3060-based machine we’ve seen.

To summarize, this laptop is an excellent choice for starter gamers, students, or professionals. However, while the glare is minimal, the screen doesn’t get very bright. The laptop itself is not heavy and Is easy to carry around. There are several configurations and upgrades available for this laptop if you’re not happy with this particular model. Despite being a budget gaming laptop, the ASUS TUF Dash F15 is among the best in its class and is definitely worth the price tag.
The Asus TUF Dash F15 2022 is a good gaming laptop for entry-level gamers who enjoy playing latest titles, not regularly but frequently after everyday work or weekends. If you're planning to use it for video editing, I'd suggest you look for notebooks with better displays.
I’ll put it this way: this year’s ASUS TUF Dash F15 has a good starting point. The chassis is great, I/O is solid, thermals are manageable, touchpad and keyboard are both definitely serviceable. That said, this model comes with multiple configurations in different price ranges – I highly suggest you compare them all against each other to determine what are the things you’re fine to sacrifice or otherwise.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is a fantastic gaming laptop that offers excellent value for its price. It has plenty of power to provide an enjoyable gaming experience, and its performance is impressive, rivalling its more ambitious ROG cousins such as the ROG Zephyrus G14 and G15. Battery life is great too. While it may have some minor shortcomings such as tiny speakers and less-than-satisfactory keyboard backlighting, these are easily overlooked in light of its overall excellent performance and value.
The TUF Dash F15 carries forward the lineup’s legacy in delivering a quality gaming experience at an affordable price point. It also helps that the laptop features a lightweight and minimalistic design which blends well in an office setting too. At the same time, the TUF Dash F15 offers commendable specs that will easily satisfy a user’s gaming needs, provided they keep their expectations in check. The only points of contention for the device revolve around the rather underwhelming battery life, average speakers, and lack of any biometric authentication.
So, is the Asus TUF Dash 15 worth buying? If you are planning to buy a gaming laptop that doesn’t go crazy over gamer aesthetics while also delivering a solid performance without breaking the bank, you can not go wrong with the Asus TUF Dash 15. However, if you prioritize creative work or RGB lights, you might want to look at other options.
The Asus TUF Dash F15 is a strong gaming laptop for gamers who are willing to spend a little more for that edge. The graphics card does its job and the screen looks nice, but some software issues and odd port placement hold this laptop back from true greatness.
