A 13 hüvelykes MacBook Pro új M2 chipje forradalmi előrelépést jelent a gép teljesítményében.

The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (M2, 2022) comes with Apple's latest M2 chip and offers excellent performance and battery life. However, there's no new design here, and with the new MacBook Air snapping at its heels, this laptop feels a bit redundant in some aspects.
If you need a laptop that can deliver sustained performance and unmatched battery life, the MacBook Pro 2022 is a worthwhile investment. This is especially true for those who are still lugging around an Intel-powered Apple laptop. But if you don’t require a machine for creative projects, you might want to go for the new Air, or wait for a MacBook Pro M2 Pro.
Personally, though, I just want better for potential MacBook buyers. Why should they be stuck with the chunkiest screen bezels in Apple's laptop lineup? Why don't they deserve a high refresh rate screen? Shouldn't Apple devote more attention to one of its best-selling machines? The 13-inch MacBook Pro is fine, like I said. But it should have been so much more.
If you’re currently on an Intel MacBook (which I assume you are if you’re already looking to upgrade), the jump to the M2 will be huge. (I don’t even have to run benchmarks against older Intel systems — this machine is faster.) You’ll get all the benefits of the M1 that we raved about in 2020 plus some extra performance and extra battery life.
The MacBook Pro has always been an easy sell for anyone wanting a highly portable, exquisitely well made laptop that performs brilliantly and sports a stunning screen. The M2 MacBook Pro is all of these things, and with prices starting at a very fair $1,299/£1,349, it's excellent value for money, especially when compared to the pricier 14-inch and 16-inch MacBooks. However, there are compromises to be made. We found the 13.3-inch screen to be a little small for extended periods of editing, and with just two USB ports (one taken by the charger), a dongle is an inconvenient necessity.

That awkward middle-child status makes the 2022 MacBook Pro 13-incher both easy and hard to recommend. It’s a great laptop by almost every measure—but it’s not the best value, or the best performer, in the MacBook Pro stable. And Apple has other options that seem to offer more for both casual and professional users (the Air, and the 14-inch MacBook Pro, respectively).
The MacBook Pro, even at its 13-inch entry-level spec, is a pricey machine. For most people, the M1 MacBook Air is still more than powerful enough for everyday use and can be found significantly cheaper. Unless you're expecting to do heavy workloads whilst regularly traveling, you may be better served with Apple's lightweight machine.
If you just need a good, new laptop, wait for the upcoming MacBook Air. You get a slightly larger, more modern-looking screen, a better webcam, nicer speakers, and a fast-charging support, all in an overall lighter package (and fun colors!). This MacBook Pro remains an awkward middle child and doesn’t bring nearly enough to the table to be worth your while.
The M2 MacBook Pro is not a major upgrade, and owners of the two-year-old M1-based model shouldn't worry that they're missing out on the 'next big thing'. It's also a little disappointing that Apple hasn't done more to update the ageing design of the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Even so, the M2 chipset does provide a welcome speed bump, and could well prove a tempting upgrade for owners of older Intel-based MacBook Pros.
Apple doesn't miss. The new MacBook 13 delivers on every one of the company's claims. The new M2 chip is more powerful than both its predecessor and the current Windows PC competition hands down. And who's going to complain about over 18 hours of battery life? Nobody, that's who.
The new M2 processor is faster than before, but we will have a closer look in a separate article soon. The processor part in particular consumes more power, while the GPU shows bigger performance gains. All in all, the M2 just need more power and even the active cooling solution of the MacBook Pro 13 is not always sufficient. These are not great news for the passive cooling of the new MacBook Air M2 and we are really curious how the Air will handle the new M2.
There’s no doubt that the MacBook Pro 13-inch is a fantastic laptop for creative professionals, but some odd design choices and a more exciting MacBook Air coming soon, makes this entry feel a little directionless.
Cost-conscious media producers, developers, graphic artists, and other users who want speed on a budget will get what they need from the 13-inch MacBook Pro–but they’ll still be better off picking a different model.
We recommend that anyone in the market for a laptop under $1,500 look to the M2 MacBook Air. Despite the "pro" name, there is little to no advantage in owning this machine.
When we reviewed the M1 MacBook Pro last year, the jump in performance coming from my aging 2013" Retina was huge. Diving into this year's M2 MacBook Pro, the leap in performance just isn't there. It does lead the charts in more than half of the benchmarks we ran, but at the same time, Intel and AMD are catching up, and with 13th Gen right around the corner alongside AMD Zen4, it won't be long before the gap shrinks further.
This would be the perfect device for someone like me — if it weren't for the new MacBook Air. This new MacBook Air, also powered by the M2, is coming very soon. It will be, as far as I can tell from Apple's website, the same price as the M2 MacBook Pro for the same specs in most cases (they level out at the $1,499 mark). But, unlike the MacBook Pro, the M2 MacBook Air did get a big redesign, and it includes all kinds of new features — including new colors, a larger display, a 1080p webcam, and, especially, MagSafe — that this device doesn't have.
If you're not looking for more power, but find the Pro M2's design offputting then you'll be wanting the MacBook Air M2 instead. It's not quite as powerful, in graphics terms, but it's marginal. Besides, it's slimmer, cheaper, and a better day-to-day Mac for most people who aren't looking for the 'pro' level.
Apple’s M2 processor is iteratively more impressive than the M1, but Apple’s insistence on sticking with an older design while refreshing the MacBook Air makes the 13-inch MacBook Pro a hard notebook to get excited about.
The M1 Air is inarguably a better deal, but the MacBook Air M2 is a better laptop. For me, that answer is yes. As is the case so often with iterative consumer tech, it’s the little touches that make the difference, and the MacBook Air M2’s quality-of-life changes improve the quality of the overall experience (the slower SSD excluded).
The M2 13-inch MacBook Pro offer a noticeable improvement from the M1 and offers peace of mind to professional users who need to have power and performance at their fingertips.
The main talking point in this review is the new Apple M2 chip. Even more than the laptop itself, since the MacBook Pro 13 hasn’t changed whatsoever for the last couple of years. Of course, we don’t say that the machine has a poor build quality or anything. In fact, it is one of the best machines in terms of rigidity that money can buy. However, reusing old hardware (in terms of body panels and chassis) feels a bit like cheating.
From the outside, nothing has changed between the 2022 model and the 2020 MacBook Pro ...but inside this new machine is the latest M2 processor from Apple's R&D labs. It's faster and more efficient than anything we've seen before – providing a phenomenal battery life and power boost!
All things considered, this updated 13-inch MacBook Pro really is the notebook to get if you want the highest-performing MacBook but can’t stretch your budget to a 14-inch MacBook Pro (which, I'll admit, is very pricey). For everyone else, I think they might be better off waiting for the new MacBook Air, which Apple says will be available sometime next month.
We'd consider your options if you're genuinely considering the M2 MacBook Pro 13. The model up in the MBP 14 seems like the better option for those in need of a proper pro-grade machine, while the new Air is looking to be the one to choose for an M2 experience. We're sure there are people out there who will love the M2 MBP 13 for what it is, we're just not entirely sure who they are.
