The iRobot Roomba i7+ is great at learning your home's layout and is ideal for challenging surfaces and areas with lots of obstacles. It's a solid performing robot vacuum, too. And, yes, the Clean Base is impressive and easy to empty — especially for those who have back issues.
But, the Rooba i7+ is one of the more expensive robot vacuum we've tested. And it shouldn't be beaten in cleaning tasks by robots that cost a third of its price. That said, if your primary interest in a robot vacuum revolves around cleaning specific rooms on a regular basis, the Roomba i7+ will get the job done quickly, and fairly well, too.
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is an impressive choice from iRobot’s line of robot vacuums. Roomba was already enough for us to leave sweeping and vacuuming ourselves in the dust, but now it’s practically irresistible. That’s not to say that you won’t pay dearly for this ultimate evolution of Roomba, even after you’ve put up the price of entry. You’ll just have to decide whether both the upfront and recurring costs of owning this Roomba are worth the level of convenience it offers. We're here to say that, if you can afford it, nigh-fully automated sweeping and vacuuming from Roomba earns our 'Recommended' award.
The i7+ and its dock have both major advantages and disadvantages. The self-emptying technology, mapping and targeted vacuuming features are world-class. It’s a good cleaner too, and it’s unlikely to get beached in your home. However, it’s noisy and navigates like a bumper car – which is not ideal at this price point. This makes it difficult to wholeheartedly recommend. It would make a great set-and-forget vacuum cleaner if you have sturdy furniture. But bear in mind that you’ll want to schedule it to run while you’re out of the house to make the most of its features and minimise its flaws.
Robot vacuums get smarter with each generation, and iRobot's Roomba i7+ might just be the most advanced model we've tested to date. In addition to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control, multistory mapping, and adaptive camera-based navigation that cleans better as it learns your home's layout, it's the only vacuum we've tested that can empty its own dustbin. Sure, it's a little loud, and at $949.99 it's one of the most expensive models we've seen, but it's also the only robot vacuum out there that doesn't require you to lift a finger. And isn't that why you want one in the first place? For its truly autonomous cleaning capabilities, the Roomba i7+ earns our Editors' Choice for high-end robot vacuums.
One thing’s for sure: iRobot devices in general - and the iRobot Roomba i7+ in particular - are high-priced luxury products. But the Roomba i7 Plus Robot Vacuum also offers excellent performance paired with premium features. The sophisticated voice control and the self-emptying dock are the highlights. The latter function automates the cleaning of your flat almost entirely - There’s virtually nothing left for you to do. The Roomba i7+ is quite expensive. If you can do without the clean base, you won’t have to dig that deep into your pockets.

The i7+ is an impressive robot vacuum with unique features that you won’t find on lesser models. I don’t necessarily think it’s worth five times the cost of a standard vacuum, but once this technology trickles down to lower-end models, it will be very nice to have.
Now, if only robot vacuums could figure out a way to climb stairs.
A decent mid-range cleaner, the iRobot Roomba i7+ doesn’t quite have the power of its high-end competition. You can buy it as the i7 if you want to save money, but the i7+ here comes with the Clean Base, which automatically cleans out the robot after a session, saving you time and hassle.
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is one of the most advanced robot vacuums we have seen to date. Not only is this Roomba a top notch performer, but it also includes a new smart base that empties the dustbin automatically. Therefore, there is no need for the user to empty the dustbin after every cleaning, as the i7+ will actually do all of this for you. If you’re in the market for a robot and want the most advanced navigation, strong performance, and incredible usabilty, the Roomba i7+ is hard to beat.
It would be easy – if a little lazy – to call the Roomba i7+ “the iPhone of robot vacuums” given its high price tag and premium features, but that certainly seems to be where this model is positioned. At $949, the i7+ is very expensive, especially considering the swathe of budget competitors entering the market. But with this innovative robot vacuum, iRobot has achieved a new standard of class-leading convenience and performance that busy, affluent home-owners will love.
We come to conclusions and talk about price. In fact, theiRobot Roomba i7 + it is sold in offering both The Amazon that on Official site a 699 €, or 300 euro less compared to the list price. We are clearly talking about an important figure, but we are still faced with a top of the range of an international brand that has a decidedly innovative function. Throughout the testing period the Roomba it behaved very well thanks to an effective cleaning and reliable navigation, making me feel the real advantage of not having to empty it after 2/3 cleaning. While it sounds silly, avoiding this boredom saves us more time and less thought.
For those with large pets, rugs as well, the i7+ is a solid machine, but at $1100 we're not sure it's going to solve all your vacuuming problems. If you're particularly squeamish about empty a vacuum bin, and would prefer to just pull out a bag as you would with a larger traditional vacuum, then the self-emptying ability will certainly appeal to you. We think many will really like the premium features the Roomba supports, like mapping and extra cleaning passes. Just make sure you have room in the house if you choose to buy the added Clean Station, and also plan to run this hefty machine often.
It may be a tad noisy but the Roomba i7+ is whip-smart, intuitive to use and leaves nothing (besides the odd stray cushion feather) in its wake. You’ll pay a fairly substantial wedge of cash for the convenience of the Clean Base. But if it’s (almost) fully automated vacuuming you’re after, the Roomba i7+ is your man.
If you can swallow that hefty price, this robot vacuum cleaner offers superb cleaning capabilities, pretty much hassle-free use and setup, coupled with some excellent functions like the automatic dirt disposal and smart mapping.
The Roomba i7+ is a really complete robot in every aspect and its automatic emptying function makes it absolutely not comparable with any of the competitors currently on the market. The only barrier to the purchase of this vacuum cleaner robot is the price - a figure that could surely direct you towards cheaper devices that can better fit your budget. If you want to get the same robot at a lower price, we recommend Roomba i7 (without the Plus), which offers all the same features as the model reviewed, but the package does not include the charging base with the automatic emptying system.
It’s hard to overstate how impressive the iRobot Roomba i7+ is. It’s the first product to fulfill the robot vacuum’s promise to completely automate one of the most-hated household tasks. The implementation isn’t perfect—the Clean Base’s space requirements are particularly hard to satisfy in apartments and condos—but it effectively eliminates the final pain point of vacuuming. That guaranteed I used it more frequently than any other vacuum of any stripe.
